Through this collaboration, Neweb has introduced “NewebAIO SoftPOS”, an in-person payment solution powered by MineSec, marking the first SoftPOS service launched by a dedicated electronic payment institution in Taiwan.
Building on Neweb’s deep experience in in-person payment services, the launch of “NewebAIO SoftPOS”represents a shift toward software-based and modularized payment acceptance, giving merchants greater flexibility in how contactless payments are deployed across retail, F&B, and mobile service environments. Powered by MineSec’s SoftPOS technology, the solution enables contactless acceptance directly on Android devices, complementing Neweb’s existing POS terminal infrastructure while expanding coverage to a wider range of merchant use cases.

Built on MineSec’s PCI MPoC–certified SoftPOS platform, NewebAIO SoftPOS application, which is now available on the Google Play Store, allows merchants to quickly download, activate, and begin accepting contactless payments on compatible Android devices.
The solution is designed to support a broad range of in-person and semi-attended payment scenarios, including tabletop POS cash registers, ordering terminals, and invoicing devices used in retail and F&B environments, as well as in-vehicle tablets and mobile devices for delivery, logistics, and other field-service use cases. The SoftPOS solution can also be embedded into integrated POS and OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) environments, enabling POS vendors and merchants to add payment acceptance to existing workflows.
Leveraging its established in-person payment foundation, Neweb has also formed a SoftPOS Strategic Alliance with POS system providers, smart device manufacturers, and martech companies. The initiative is expected to support the integration and onboarding of thousands of merchants in its first year, with future plans to continue expanding through cross-industry collaboration to reshape in-store payment experiences and advance Taiwan’s retail payment ecosystem.
